Applications are open until Wednesday June 22nd at 11:00am. Selected campers after June 17th can come to GW campus to pick up camp supplies.

To apply, complete a Google Form application on this website. You will also need a recommendation letter from a teacher, which you can email to gencybercamp@gwu.edu after you complete the Google Form application.
Important Message to Parents and Guardians
- The application requires a short statement from your child, so please ask your child to complete the application in their own words. We understand that their comments may not be completely polished, but our experience has shown that when the applications are written by the potential campers in their own words, the campers who are selected are more dedicated to coming to camp EVERY day. This statement can be a short written essay, a poem, or a drawing.
- While attendance has not been a serious problem in the past camps, we want to be sure to sustain attendance at the camp. Therefore, we would like to stress to parents and guardians that we expect full participation for the full week of camp (barring sickness), and we expect full participation in the pre-camp outreach event and post-camp activities which will take place on Saturdays.
- Do a dry run of the technology connections, and please be sure your child attends the pre-camp outreach on June 11th to get familiar with the technology that will be used during the camp.
- As part of the application process, we may choose to interview potential campers.
- We will provide materials and snacks to the selected campers.
- Each camper will receive micro:bits for use during the camp. The micro:bit will come with a USB cable to connect to your device. If you have a device that does not have a USB port, you may need an adapter to connect the USB ‘plug’ to your device. Another option is to pair via Bluetooth, but this option is not recommended because troubleshooting is challenging in the virtual environment.
