Previous Camp Photos and Video

The following page shows some previous camp activities. Campers have worked on posters and charts, heard from speakers, visited museums and learned a lot about cybersecurity!

The GenCyber GW Middle School Girls Cybersecurity Camp 2022 was virtual!

Elyse Nicolas (Program Director), Lauren Schmidt  (GW Student, Camp Counselor) and Catherine Meadows (GW Student, Camp Counselor) with       post-camp boxes of supplies.

On June 21 we hosted Eboni Imhotep and Cinder Trimboli Ascher from CGI. Their talk was introduced by campers Macie and Kasie. The presentation provided insights into how these two women formed their career, what they do on a regular basis at work and what messages they had for our campers. The photo below includes Eboni on the far left and Cindy and the far right.

A trip to the Spy Museum gave us a chance to solve a 'real world' problem, use our data collection skills and save the Universe!

We have been reviewing Day of Cyber as we research possible careers in cyber-security. Kate McDowell, NSA, and Kim Paradise of LifeJourney stopped by to talk about their work.  Kate talked about her job at NSA, her love for computer science and how computer science really impacts all walks of life - from cyber-security to scheduling of food deliveries for a supermarket and everything in between.  Kim shared with us why Day of Cyber was created and how they went about it - Kate and Kim revealed that Kate is the model for one of career paths in the Day of Cybercamp.

Having a great time at the camp reunion!
